Maple Bear Early Learning Centers in Dallas Fort Worth Support National Read A Book Day

Posted in Maple Bear USA on Wednesday, September 18th, 2019

High quality literature is the cornerstone of the Maple Bear Program, with over 1,200 children’s books carefully selected by Maple Bear’s faculty for its curriculum.

Community Invited to Try a 21 Day Reading Challenge

To emphasize the importance of reading regularly and starting at a young age, Maple Bear centers in the DFW area are inviting parents and the community to a 21-day reading challenge during the month of September in support of National Read a Book Day and International Literacy Day. The reading challenge not only helps parents form a habit of daily reading with their child, but also provides parents a way of giving the gift of reading to others.

Share Your Photos With Us and We Will Donate a Book

Parents who share a photo of themselves reading to their child on social media and who tag Maple Bear Justin Road or Maple Bear University Drive, will have a book donated in honor of their family to a child or school in need.

“We want to make a difference in our community, and the reading challenge supports Maple Bear’s core philosophies of developing a love of reading at a young age and giving back to the community it serves. We are prepared to give 21 books away per center”, says Janel Villegas, Maple Bear DFW Area Manager.

Read A Book Day Kick-Off Event Was a Success

Maple Bear Early Learning Centers kicked off the challenge with a community Read a Book Day event. Guests, students and teachers came dressed as their favorite book character ready for great stories and fun. Maple Bear involved its guest with read aloud stories, “The Popcorn Dragon” by Jane Thayer and “Tea Party Rules,” by Ame Dyckman.
